About
Michael Tan has founded three technology companies, including one that was acquired by a NASDAQ-listed company and another that IPO'd on the SGX. He now serves as General Partner at Altitude Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on Southeast Asian startups.
Michael's entrepreneurial journey began at age 22 when he dropped out of the National University of Singapore to build his first startup. He later completed his degree and an MBA from Stanford GSB. He has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Singapore Business Federation.
He is a prolific angel investor with over 40 investments in his portfolio, and serves as a mentor at Y Combinator's Visiting Partners programme. His writing on startups and venture capital appears regularly in Tech in Asia and e27.
